Neher Data Services LLC — Last updated February 2026

Welcome. This help center covers Familiar, the personal data companion, and Calendar Wizard, the Telegram bot that turns natural language into calendar events. If you have a question not answered here, email james@westover.dev.

Open Beta

Calendar Wizard is currently in open beta. Features and behavior may change. You can start using it today by messaging @nds_klaus_bot on Telegram.

Documentation

Getting Started

Calendar Wizard connects to your Google Calendar and lets you manage events through a Telegram chat. No apps to install beyond Telegram, which you likely already have.

  1. Open Telegram and find the bot.
Search for @nds_klaus_bot or tap the link from any device. Tap Start.
  2. Connect your Google Calendar.
Type /connect and follow the OAuth link. You will be redirected to Google's sign-in page and asked to grant read/write access to your calendar. We never see your Google password.
  3. Set your timezone.
Type /timezone Europe/Berlin (or your local timezone). This ensures events land at the right time. Run /timezone with no argument to see your current setting.
  4. Create your first event.
Just describe it in plain language: "Dentist appointment Tuesday at 3pm" or "Team standup every weekday at 9am". The bot will confirm before saving.

What is Familiar?

Familiar is a personal data companion built around the idea that your data should stay close to you, not in a third-party cloud. It runs on self-hosted infrastructure and uses AI agents to help you manage your schedule, notes, and personal information.

Calendar Wizard is the first public-facing feature of Familiar. It exposes calendar management through a Telegram bot so you can interact from any device without a dedicated app.

Privacy at a Glance

What we do NOT collect

We do not store the content of your Telegram messages. We do not track you across websites. We do not run analytics on your behavior. We do not sell data.

We do store: your Telegram user ID (to know who you are), your timezone preference, an encrypted OAuth token that lets us write to your Google Calendar, and event data that you explicitly ask us to create or modify. See the Privacy Policy and Data Transparency pages for full details.
